"Poplar Grove"
11x14 Oil On Linen Panel
My little painting pal Nick, thought it was a good day to paint. Gotta love a kid that wants to go painting with his Mom! Sunflower seeds and the chance to drive Grandpa's 4 wheeler (the official painting mobile) to get to the old poplar grove help 'seal' the deal I'd say, but never the less it was a beautiful day painting! (Nick also had his portrait done that day while sitting with his baseball hat on, watching his Momma paint) ;) It's a tough life but someone's gotta do it!

Thanks MaryAnn! It was such a beautiful day to paint. I've always wanted to paint that grove and finally did. I checked it out last night when the evening sun is hitting it, that will be the next one!

Kami,
Beautiful piece. I love the sunlight streaming in on the grove and highlighted on the trees.

Thanks Ann! I couldn't believe all the rich color in the shadows of the trees, it was just beautiful. :) We're so lucky we paint! Happy Painting to you!

Kami, I want to thank you again for Tuesday's morning workshop; it was a great way for me to get my 'feet wet', and I didn't get lost or confused. Your individual critiques really helped me understand how to begin to 'see color', and your demo was full of details about applying paint, having a good set-up,and the logical approach to starting a painting. All this info convinces me to commit to painting regularly - I know I have to put in a lot of paint time to absorb it all!
