This is stunning! The peonies are so beautifully painted - you got all of their rich beauty without getting 'fussy' and super-detailed (a problem I have when I try to paint them :o ). I love this!!!

Thank you Claire, I love painting the flowers around here when they are in seaon. I understand the getting 'fussy' with these flowers, it's a challenge not too. When I'm painting challenging flowers like these (especially when they are white) I'm constantly focusing on keeping lights in light and darks in dark. IT helps. Thanks again! And happy Painting!

Hi Susan, thanks for your kind words. I think there is something about the color harmony of the vase and the warm whites that provoke that sense of calmness in this painting. I love that vase! One of my favorite colors! :)
